Overview

The PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme, run by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, recognises and promotes quality education among Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified Tribes (DNT) students.

Selection Process: Selection is based purely on academic merit from the previous class examination (the YASASVI Entrance Test has been discontinued); the institution selects eligible students from a merit list, with 30% of the scholarship reserved for female students.

Amount & Benefits

Up to ₹1,25,000 for tuition, hostel fees, and other school charges (school-level)
Full tuition fees, non-refundable charges, and ₹3,000/month living expenses (college-level)

Eligibility

Applicants must: Belong to OBC, EBC, or DNT communities; Be studying in Class 9 or Class 11 at a recognised institution; Have annual family income not exceeding ₹2,50,000; Have secured at least 60% marks in the previous class (Class 8 for Class 9 applicants, Class 10 for Class 11 applicants). Priority to students enrolled in identified Top Class Schools.
