Overview

The Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities is a Government of India initiative supporting students from notified minority communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis/Zoroastrians) studying in Classes 1 to 10, administered via the National Scholarship Portal.

Selection Process: Applications are verified through the NSP; Aadhaar seeding to the bank account is mandatory, and failure to do so results in disqualification.

Amount & Benefits

Financial assistance for admission/tuition fees and a maintenance allowance
Up to ₹3,500 per year depending on class (9th/10th) and hosteller/day-scholar status, paid via Aadhaar DBT

Eligibility

Applicants must: Belong to a notified minority community (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi/Zoroastrian); Be studying in Classes 1 to 10 at a government/private school or eligible residential institute; Have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination; Have annual family income within the applicable ceiling (₹1–2.5 lakh depending on state/scheme).
