Overview

Amount & Benefits

₹12,000 per year (₹1,000 per month) for Classes IX to XII.
Fresh awards go to Class IX students through a state selection test
renewals cover Classes X to XII.

Eligibility

Applicants must: Be a regular Class IX student (fresh) or Class X–XII student (renewal) in a government, government-aided or local-body school; Have parental income of not more than ₹3,50,000 per year; Have at least 55% in Class VII (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST) and qualify the state selection test (40% aggregate in MAT and SAT; 32% for SC/ST). Students of Navodaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya and residential schools are not eligible.
