Overview

The Maharashtra Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship is a Government of Maharashtra initiative under the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance to promote higher education among underprivileged students, particularly from SC, VJNT, and SBC categories, through tuition and exam fee reimbursement.

Selection Process: Applications are processed via the MahaDBT portal; benefits are disbursed by Direct Benefit Transfer to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

Amount & Benefits

Up to 100% tuition and examination fee reimbursement for eligible courses
Girls: 100% tuition and exam fees at both government and non-government aided institutions
Boys: 50% tuition at unaided/permanent unaided institutions and 100% at others, plus 50% exam fee (professional courses)
  • 100% tuition and exam fees for non-professional courses

Eligibility

Applicants must: Be a resident of Maharashtra admitted under the General or SEBC category at a government or aided institution in the state (private/self-financed colleges excluded); Have combined annual family income not exceeding ₹8,00,000; Maintain minimum 50% attendance in the previous semester (waived for incoming first-year students in their first semester).
