Overview
A fully funded scholarship for outstanding international postgraduate students at the University of Cambridge. Applications for 2027 entry close 8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027, depending on the course.

Eligibility
Applicants must: Be applying for a postgraduate course at the University of Cambridge and indicate interest in Gates Cambridge funding on their application; Submit the scholarship-specific questions and a Gates Cambridge reference (PhD applicants also submit a research proposal). The deadline depends on your course — 8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027, as shown under 'Course Funding Deadline' in the Cambridge Course Directory. The earlier date is shown here.

- 2Check the Course Funding Deadline for your course in the University of Cambridge Course Directory
- 3Apply through the Cambridge Graduate Application Portal and indicate your interest in Gates Cambridge funding
- 4Submit by 11:59pm UK time on the funding deadline
- 5Shortlisted candidates go through the Trust's official selection process before the final award
Selection process
- 1Application submittedYour form is filed on the official portal.
- 2Institute verificationYour college confirms enrolment and documents.
- 3State verificationThe state department reviews and approves.
- 4Scholarship approvalThe sanctioning authority clears the award.
- 5Fund transferThe amount is credited to your bank account.
